Brigham City Temple

I had a lovely afternoon drive with friends to Brigham city for the Temple open house. The temple was beautiful as to be expected but it was beyond that the details were flawless. Classic and timeless design in every room and the art was so appropriate for the area. One piece caught my special attention, It was one of  Joseph and Hyrum  in the Kirtland temple when the Lord comes to accept his house. It reminded me of my favorite painting of Joseph's first vision by Jeffery Robert Pugh.
It was a lovely experience to see the Brigham Tabernacle too as well which is directly across the street.  After we had visited these monumental buildings we hit up Peach City  to experience Brigham city's famous fresh peach shake.  A darling city now adorned with a stunning house of the the Lord.
Yesterday I watched this temple be dedicated. Such a blessing that Elder Packer was well enough to attend and dedicate his home towns own temple. I was struck with a realization that I need to dedicate (which means to give away) more of  life and time to the Lord. I have much to give away and give up, like fear self doubt and seeking acceptance.  I was also reminded how much I need to uphold and honor the memory of those before me. My life in comparison to theirs has fewer griefs and trials which makes me even more capable to do more of the work. I need to do more of  my part to honor them. The dedication was a great reminder of many things for me there is much to improve upon . So grateful am I to be here in Salt Lake to witness such wonderful happenings in the church.
